Tobermory sits at the very tip of the Bruce Peninsula, where Georgian Bay meets Lake Huron in a landscape of ancient limestone, old-growth cedar forest, and some of the clearest freshwater in the world. It's a town known more for scuba diving in the Fathom Five National Marine Park and the turquoise shallows of Flowerpot Island than for fairways — which makes Cornerstone Golf Club something of a surprise find at this remote northern outpost of Ontario cottage country.
The course occupies classic Shield-edge terrain: the rock is never far below the surface, tree lines are dense, and the natural topography does much of the design work. That kind of setting rewards accurate, thoughtful golf over raw power. Rounds here carry the unhurried pace the Peninsula itself demands — this is not a destination you reach by accident, and most visitors are happy to slow down once they arrive.
For golfers making the drive up Highway 6, Cornerstone offers a genuine reason to build an extra day into any Bruce Peninsula itinerary.
