Lewiston Golf & Country Club has been a cornerstone of golf in southeastern Minnesota's bluff country for generations, serving the farming communities of the upper Root River valley as a true private members' club. The course occupies terrain shaped by the same glacial and erosional forces that carved the dramatic limestone bluffs and coulees defining this corner of the state — a landscape distinct from the flat prairie most people picture when they think of Minnesota.
Playing in the Driftless Area means elevation change, wooded corridors, and holes that ask for shape and course management rather than raw power. The natural contours of this region have a way of turning a routine round into something genuinely engaging, with the land itself doing much of the design work.
As a private club in a small, tight-knit community, the membership culture here tends to run deep. These are golfers who know every bounce and breeze on the property, and that local knowledge — accumulated over seasons and decades — is very much part of what the club is.
