Few resort courses in eastern Canada carry the reputation of Le Maître. Designed by Graham Cooke and opened in 1995, it serves as the flagship layout at the Mont Tremblant resort complex in the Laurentians — a mountain playground roughly 130 kilometres north of Montreal that draws visitors year-round for skiing, cycling, and, in warmer months, golf. The course winds through a landscape of granite outcroppings, mixed boreal forest, and the dramatic elevation changes that define this part of the Canadian Shield. Cooke, one of Canada's most respected architects, used that terrain deliberately, producing a course that asks for both precision and course management.
Le Maître has hosted multiple editions of the Canadian Tour's Tremblant Open and built a consistent following among serious golfers across Quebec and Ontario. It plays long and demands a full-bag conversation, with water and tightly framed fairways keeping the card honest throughout.
