Few clubs in American golf carry the pedigree that Aronimink does. Originally designed by Donald Ross and opened in 1928, the course stands as one of his most celebrated works — a masterclass in the subtleties that defined his career. Ross's hallmark crowned greens, precise bunkering, and demanding approach angles are on full display here, and the layout has been carefully stewarded over the decades, with Gil Hanse completing a celebrated restoration in the 2010s that brought the course closer to Ross's original vision than it had been in generations.
Aronimink has earned its place on national rankings year after year and has hosted significant championship golf, including the 1962 PGA Championship, multiple PGA Tour stops on the BMW Championship circuit, and U.S. Open qualifying. The par-70 layout plays firm and fast, rewarding precision over power — the kind of course that reveals new layers with every round.
Newtown Square sits in Delaware County, on Philadelphia's western Main Line, where old-money club culture and serious golf have coexisted for over a century. Aronimink is very much the crown jewel of that tradition.
