TPC Twin Cities has served as the home of the 3M Open on the PGA Tour since the tournament's inaugural edition in 2019, giving the northern Minneapolis suburbs a genuine Tour stop for the first time in decades. The Arnold Palmer Design Company shaped the course, which opened in 2003, and the layout reflects Palmer's preference for width off the tee paired with contoured, well-defended greens that reward accurate approach play. It carries the TPC's signature "Stadium Golf" concept — mounding and sight lines engineered with tournament spectators in mind, which makes it one of the more naturally television-friendly venues in the Midwest.
Set within the Blaine corridor north of Minneapolis–St. Paul, the course plays through a landscape of mature trees, wetlands, and the kind of rolling terrain characteristic of Minnesota's glacially shaped geography. Summers here are lush but fleeting, and the course tends to play firm and quick by late July when the Tour arrives.
For everyday visitors, TPC Twin Cities operates as a daily-fee facility, offering the relatively rare opportunity to play a current, active Tour venue without a private membership. That combination of Tour pedigree and public access makes it a legitimate bucket-list round for golfers across the Upper Midwest.
