Skepptuna Golfklubb sits in the gently rolling farmland north of Stockholm, in the Uppland region that stretches toward Uppsala. Märsta itself is perhaps best known as the gateway to Arlanda Airport, but step a few kilometers off the E4 motorway and the landscape opens into something quieter — broad fields, forest edges, and the kind of unhurried Swedish countryside that makes for natural golf terrain. The club takes its name from the historic Skepptuna parish, rooting it firmly in this corner of Uppland's agricultural landscape.
The course plays through a mix of open parkland and tighter, tree-lined corridors typical of Swedish inland clubs built for their membership rather than for spectacle. Conditions here reward local knowledge: the fairways can firm up nicely in the long Scandinavian summer days, and the mature tree lines create definition without overwhelming a mid-handicapper.
As a member-oriented club in the greater Stockholm orbit, Skepptuna offers a genuine local golf experience — unpretentious, well-kept, and a legitimate alternative to the more prominent clubs closer to the city center.
