Beverley Park Golf Club

Few municipal courses in Australia carry the history that Beverley Park does. Opened in 1939 and designed by the prolific Eric Apperly — who also shaped courses including Pymble and Concord — it has served Sydney's southern suburbs for generations, sitting within Kogarah Golf Club's traditional heartland before becoming a council-operated layout that's remained genuinely accessible to everyday golfers. Apperly's hand is evident in the routing's thoughtful use of the undulating terrain, which rewards course management over brute force.

The course occupies Carwar Reserve in Kogarah, a part of Sydney where the suburbs give way to pockets of bush and parkland running down toward the St George district and Botany Bay beyond. The landscape is classic Sydney sandstone country — tree-lined, moderately hilly, and green for much of the year thanks to the city's coastal climate.

As a public course managed by Georges River Council, Beverley Park punches above its weight for accessibility and conditioning, drawing a loyal mix of local members, casual visitors, and beginners finding their feet in the game.
