Chuncheon sits at the heart of Gangwon-do, a province defined by its mountains, lakes, and four-season drama — and Yukrim Golf Club plays very much like a product of that environment. The course occupies terrain shaped by the ridgelines and valleys characteristic of the region, meaning elevation changes are a constant companion and course management matters as much as raw distance. Fairways that appear straightforward from the tee often reveal themselves quite differently once you're in the middle of them.
Chuncheon itself is a city with genuine character — known for Chuncheonho and Uiamho lakes, dakgalbi, and a cooler climate than Seoul despite being just over an hour away. That highland air makes the playing season feel crisp and the turf firm, particularly in spring and autumn when conditions tend to be at their best. Gangwon-do has quietly built a serious regional golf scene, with the mountains delivering memorable visual backdrops across nearly every round played here.
Yukrim is a members-oriented club in the Korean private tradition, where the emphasis falls on a composed, well-maintained experience rather than resort theatrics. Visitors playing through the region will find it a grounded, honest test shaped unmistakably by the landscape around it.
