Burnaby Mountain sits on the forested slopes above Burnaby's eastern reaches, offering one of the more scenic municipal rounds you'll find anywhere in Greater Vancouver. The course climbs and descends through the trees that define this corner of the Lower Mainland, and on clear days the views stretching toward the North Shore mountains remind you just how extraordinary the Pacific Northwest backdrop can be — even on a public green-fee round.
As a city-owned facility, it serves a broad cross-section of Metro Vancouver golfers, from beginners finding their footing to regulars who know its elevation changes and tree-lined corridors well enough to navigate them with real strategy. The terrain is the defining factor here: flat lies are earned, not assumed, and the hillside routing gives the layout a personality that flatter municipal tracks rarely achieve.
Burnaby itself is a dense, diverse city immediately east of Vancouver, and the Mountain course represents one of its genuine open-space assets. It's the kind of place where the round costs a reasonable amount and the surroundings do a lot of the heavy lifting.
