Chileno Bay Golf

Tom Fazio designed this private resort course along the East Cape corridor of Los Cabos, where the Sea of Cortez meets the rugged Baja desert — one of the most dramatic natural settings in golf. Opened as part of the Auberge Resorts-affiliated Chileno Bay Club, the layout weaves through cactus-studded arroyos and across blufftops with ocean panoramas that routinely stop players mid-round. Fazio leaned into the terrain rather than fighting it, letting the desert topography dictate routing decisions that feel earned rather than engineered.

The course plays as a private amenity for club members and resort guests, so the field is intentionally small and the pace relaxed — a deliberate contrast to the busier public-access corridors of Cabo. Chileno Bay sits between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, closer to the calmer swimming beaches of the middle corridor, and the course shares that somewhat quieter identity compared to its high-profile Palmilla-area neighbors.

Los Cabos has become one of Mexico's premier golf destinations, drawing architects of Fazio's caliber precisely because the desert-meets-ocean canvas is nearly unmatched.
