Mae Mo is a small industrial district in Lampang Province, in the heart of Thailand's northern interior — a region far removed from the resort golf corridors of Phuket or the manicured destination courses ringing Bangkok. Lampang itself is one of northern Thailand's older cities, known for its horse-drawn carriages, Lanna-era temples, and a quieter pace than neighboring Chiang Mai. The surrounding landscape is defined by forested hills, river valleys, and the wide agricultural plains that give way to the mountains of the far north.
A standalone driving range rather than a full course, a facility like this serves a real and practical role in a place like Mae Mo — where serious golf infrastructure is limited and local players rely on practice facilities to sharpen their games between trips to fuller courses in Lampang city or Chiang Mai, roughly 100 kilometers to the north.
For a visitor or a local looking to loosen up or work through a bucket of balls, this is a functional stop in a part of Thailand where golf exists closer to everyday life than to the resort experience most traveling players associate with the country.
