Hurum golfklubb sits on the Hurum peninsula, a quietly dramatic arm of land that juts into the Oslofjord between the Drøbak Sound and Holmsfjorden. This is an area defined by water on almost every side, forested ridges, and the kind of unhurried Scandinavian countryside that makes it feel well removed from the capital despite Oslo being less than an hour away. The local golf scene around Akershus is reasonably active — the region supports a solid spread of clubs — but Hurum occupies a distinctly rural, peninsular character that few of its neighbors can match.
The course itself works through terrain that is typical of this coastline: rolling woodland, elevation changes carved by glacial history, and holes where the fjord landscape occasionally opens up in the background. That combination of tight forest corridors and broader scenic moments gives the round a varied, engaging texture that rewards local knowledge.
Hurum is a member-oriented club in the genuine Norwegian tradition — not a resort showpiece, but a place with a loyal membership and a relaxed, community atmosphere that is very much part of its appeal.
