The Beidaihe area of Qinhuangdao has a golf pedigree that stretches back to the late 19th century, when European diplomats and merchants built one of China's earliest courses among the seaside pines here. 北戴河松石高尔夫 — Beidaihe Songshi Golf — continues that tradition in a setting defined by the Bohai Sea coastline and the dense groves of Pinus tabulaeformis that give the course both its name ("pine and stone") and its character.
