Hawley sits in the Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania, a region where glacial lakes and dense hardwood forests define the landscape. Wayne County's golf is closely tied to its resort culture — this is a part of the state where people come to slow down, and the courses here tend to reflect that unhurried character, routing through terrain that does most of the aesthetic heavy lifting on its own.
Woodloch Springs is the golf component of the larger Woodloch resort community, a family-oriented destination that has operated in this corner of the Poconos for decades. The course plays through the wooded, rolling topography typical of the region, where elevation changes and tree-lined corridors are the rule rather than the exception. Water is a recurring presence — the lakes and streams that define the Pocono landscape don't disappear once you step onto the fairways.
As a private club attached to a residential and resort community, the experience here leans toward the relaxed and scenic rather than the tournament-severe. It's the kind of course where surroundings matter as much as the challenge underfoot.
