Porto Carras Golf sits within one of the most ambitious privately developed resort complexes ever built in Greece — the Porto Carras Estate on the Sithonia peninsula of Halkidiki, a vast coastal property established in the 1970s by shipping magnate John Carras. The estate was conceived as a self-contained world: vineyards, hotels, a marina, and this golf course, all carved into pine-covered hillside terrain above the Aegean. The course reflects that grand ambition, routing through Mediterranean scrub and mature pines with sea views appearing at multiple points across the layout.

Halkidiki's 3 fingers of land jutting into the northern Aegean produce a landscape unlike anywhere else in Greek golf — rugged, aromatic, and genuinely dramatic. Sithonia, the middle finger, is the least developed of the 3 and retains a wild quality that seeps into the course's character.
