One of the more historically charged settings in Texas golf, Stephen F. Austin Golf Club occupies the grounds of Stephen F. Austin State Park near San Felipe — a town that sits at the very cradle of Anglo-American colonization in Texas. San Felipe de Austin was the capital of Austin's Colony in the 1820s, and that sense of deep Texan heritage saturates the landscape here. Playing this course means walking ground that was genuinely formative in the state's history.
