Burlington Golf Club has been a fixture of the southeastern Iowa golf scene for over a century, making it one of the oldest clubs in the state. The course occupies rolling terrain characteristic of the bluffs and hollows that define Burlington's geography along the Mississippi River — a landscape shaped by glacial drainage and dramatic elevation changes that give the layout a natural, unhurried character you won't find on flatter Midwestern ground.
The design rewards players who think their way around the property rather than simply overpowering it. The routing uses the contours of the land honestly, and the tree-lined fairways that have matured over decades frame shots in ways that a newer course has to manufacture artificially. It plays as a genuine par 72, with enough variety across the 18 holes to test the full range of a golfer's game.
Burlington itself sits on the Iowa bank of the Mississippi, a small city with deep river-town roots. For local members and visiting golfers passing through the region, the club functions as a true community anchor — the kind of place where the golf and the social fabric are genuinely inseparable.
