Few resort golf destinations in Michigan's Lower Peninsula carry the ambition that Boyne Resorts brought to its flagship Monument Course at Boyne Mountain. Designed by Arthur Hills and opened in 1998, the layout was built to be a genuine championship test — a serious, modern design that could stand alongside anything in the Midwest. Hills carved the course through the rolling terrain of the northern Michigan hills, creating a track that rewards strategic thinking and accurate iron play. The Boyne Mountain setting gives the course genuine elevation change, with views across the forested ridgelines that define this part of Charlevoix County.
Northern Michigan's golf corridor is one of the Midwest's great seasonal pleasures, running from roughly Memorial Day through October before the winters close everything down. Boyne Falls sits in the heart of that country, a short drive from Petoskey and the Lake Michigan shore, surrounded by the kind of hardwood and pine landscape that makes autumn rounds here genuinely spectacular.
The Monument Course plays as the marquee layout in Boyne Resort's broader collection, which gives it a particular energy — well-conditioned, staffed for a destination experience, and designed to leave an impression.
