Teschow sits within the lake-studded Mecklenburgische Seenplatte — the Mecklenburg Lake District — one of the most quietly beautiful stretches of inland landscape in northern Germany. Rolling glacial moraines, birch and oak woodland, and the constant presence of water define both the scenery and the playing conditions here, where Baltic winds can arrive with little warning and shift a straightforward round into something considerably more demanding.
The course takes its name from the small settlement of Teschow, just outside Teterow, a modest market town whose medieval brick church and circular street plan reflect the region's Slavic and Hanseatic heritage. Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is not a region dense with courses, which gives places like Teschow a particular value for golfers exploring northeast Germany — the crowds you might find at better-known resort destinations rarely materialize here.
What the Golfplatz Teschow offers is a round shaped by genuine countryside rather than manicured artifice. The terrain does the architectural work, and the surrounding farmland and forest give the layout a rural honesty that feels increasingly rare.
