Few private clubs in central Arkansas carry the quiet prestige of the Country Club of Arkansas, which sits in Maumelle — one of the planned communities that took shape along the Arkansas River northwest of Little Rock during the 1970s and '80s. The club grew alongside the city itself, and that shared history gives it a character rooted in the region rather than imported from somewhere else.
Maumelle occupies a stretch of terrain where the Arkansas River lowlands begin giving way to the Ouachita foothills, and that transition shows on the course. The land is gently rolling, wooded with hardwoods and pines, and the river corridor keeps the air humid through the long southern summers. Playing conditions here are shaped by Arkansas's pronounced seasons — firm and fast in the dry stretches of late summer, softer and more forgiving in the spring.
As a private members' club, the Country Club of Arkansas offers the unhurried pace and familiarity that define that experience — a place where regulars know every bounce and break, and guests come away with a genuine feel for how central Arkansas plays golf.
