Frösåker Golfklubb sits on a peninsula jutting into Lake Mälaren, giving it one of the more dramatic natural settings of any course in central Sweden. The layout weaves through the varied terrain of the Frösåker estate, where open farmland meets dense forest and the water is rarely out of sight. That combination of exposure and shelter means conditions can shift dramatically from hole to hole — a calm, tree-lined par 4 followed almost immediately by a wind-swept stretch along the lake's edge.
Västerås is one of Sweden's oldest cities, with a golfing culture that punches above the region's size, and Frösåker is considered one of its more rewarding venues. The course rewards patience and local knowledge rather than raw power — members here tend to know exactly which holes demand respect when the westerly wind picks up off Mälaren.
The club has a genuine members' feel, unhurried and rooted in the landscape rather than dressed up for tourism. For visitors, that authenticity is part of the appeal.
