Seymour Golf and Country Club sits against the dramatic backdrop of Mount Seymour in North Vancouver, one of the older private clubs on the British Columbia Lower Mainland. Founded in the early 20th century, the club has long been a fixture of the North Shore's social and sporting fabric, offering members a retreat that feels genuinely removed from the dense urban energy of Greater Vancouver just across Burrard Inlet.
The course plays through mature Douglas fir and cedar forest typical of the Pacific Northwest, where the tree canopy defines corridors and errant shots are punished quickly. North Vancouver's wet winters and mild summers shape the playing conditions considerably — the course tends to play soft and long in spring, firming up only in the drier summer months. The mountain terrain introduces natural elevation changes that make course management more interesting than a flat scorecard reading would suggest.
As a private members' club, Seymour carries the unhurried, familiar atmosphere of a place where regulars know every bounce and break. It rewards local knowledge and patient course management over raw power.
