Dallas has a long tradition of accessible public golf, and Keeton Park is one of the municipal layouts that has served the city's everyday players for decades. Operated by the City of Dallas, it sits in the eastern part of the city near White Rock Creek, a corridor of green space that gives the course a more natural feel than you might expect from an urban muni. The terrain along that creek bottom introduces some gentle movement and tree-lined corridors that break up what could otherwise be a flat, featureless round.
As a par 72 open to the public at affordable daily-fee rates, Keeton Park draws a broad cross-section of Dallas golfers — beginners working on their games, regulars who know every bounce, and everyone in between. That democratic character is exactly what a good municipal course should deliver.
North Texas golf means heat, wind, and Bermuda-grass fairways baking firm and fast by midsummer. Playing Keeton Park is, in that sense, an honest Texas experience — straightforward, unpretentious, and genuinely part of the city's golfing fabric.
