City Park Golf Course's North Course sits inside one of the great urban parks in America — City Park in New Orleans covers more than 1,300 acres and has been home to golf since the early 20th century. The North Course is the shorter, more compact layout of the facility's offerings, and its par of 68 reflects a design built around shot-making and positioning rather than raw distance. Tree-lined fairways, the flat alluvial terrain of southeast Louisiana, and the subtropical canopy that defines City Park give it a character distinct from anything you'd find outside this city.
New Orleans golf is its own world — warm year-round, occasionally interrupted by Gulf humidity and afternoon storms, and always colored by the live oaks draped in Spanish moss that frame nearly every hole. The land barely rises above sea level, so water comes into play not through dramatic elevation but through the kind of low-lying drainage features that remind you exactly where you are.
As a public municipal facility, City Park serves everyone from beginners finding their footing to serious players keeping their game sharp between bigger tests. The North Course won't overwhelm anyone with length, but playing well here still demands honesty and precision.
