Rawene Golf Club

Rawene Golf Club sits in the rural heart of Northland, New Zealand's northernmost region — a landscape of rolling farmland, ancient kauri forest remnants, and the wide tidal inlets of the Hokianga Harbour. The club takes its name from the small historic town of Rawene on the Hokianga's southern shore, a ferry-linked settlement that is one of New Zealand's oldest European townships. This is deep, unhurried country, far from the polished resort corridors of the Bay of Islands, and the golf here reflects that character entirely.

Kaikohe serves as the commercial hub of the mid-North, and the club operates as a genuine community asset for the surrounding farming and Māori communities. Like many provincial New Zealand clubs, it is a volunteer-run, members-first operation where the welcome is warm and the formality is minimal — bring your own buggy, sign the book, and get out on the course.

Northland's climate is the most subtropical in New Zealand, meaning lush, green turf through much of the year and rarely the firm, fast conditions that define courses further south. Expect character over conditioning, and a round that feels genuinely connected to the land around it.
