Few clubs in Maine carry as much history as Biddeford-Saco Country Club, one of the oldest in the state. Founded in the late 19th century, it has been a cornerstone of southern Maine's golf culture for well over a century, drawing players from the twin cities of Biddeford and Saco as well as the broader York County community that has long supported it.
The course plays across classic New England terrain — rolling, tree-lined fairways shaped by the glacial landscape common to coastal Maine. This part of the state sits just inland from the Atlantic, close enough that sea air and marine weather patterns influence playing conditions throughout the season. The short Maine summer means the course is at its finest from late spring through early fall, when the turf is firm and the foliage frames every hole.
As a traditional member-owned club, Biddeford-Saco offers the kind of unhurried, community-rooted experience that defines New England golf at its most authentic — a place where the game's history feels genuinely present.
