White Lake sits in the chain of lakes country of Oakland County, northwest of Detroit, where glacial geography left behind a landscape of rolling terrain, wetlands, and hardwood forest. Indian Springs Metropark occupies some of the finest of that land, managed by the Huron-Clinton Metroparks authority — the regional system that has long made quality outdoor recreation accessible to the sprawling metro Detroit population. That public mission shapes everything about what you'll find here.
As a Metroparks course, Indian Springs is built for accessibility rather than exclusivity, giving everyday golfers a chance to play through genuinely attractive natural surroundings without a private-club price tag. The wetlands and tree cover that define this corner of Oakland County are very much in play, rewarding straight, thoughtful golf over raw power.
The par-71 layout means at least one of the two-shot holes has been converted or shortened, which typically signals a design adapted to its terrain rather than forced into a conventional template — often a sign that the land, not a blueprint, was allowed to lead.
