La Bagnaia

Few corners of Tuscany announce themselves quite as dramatically as the Crete Senesi, the clay-badlands south of Siena whose pale, sculpted hillsides have been painting backdrops for Renaissance artists and wandering travelers for centuries. La Bagnaia sits within this landscape, a course where the terrain does much of the architectural work — the rolling, treeless swells of the crete giving each hole an exposed, elemental quality that you simply don't find on parkland layouts further north.

Murlo itself is a small medieval village perched on a ridge above the valley, known locally for its remarkable Etruscan museum and a sense of agricultural quiet that the surrounding agriturismo estates have carefully preserved. Golf here feels less like a resort amenity and more like another way to move slowly through a working landscape of cypress rows, olive groves, and sunflower fields.

The par-71 layout means at least one par-5 is missing from the conventional card, which typically signals some creative asymmetry in how the round is structured — expect variety in the short game rather than brute length to define the challenge.
