Few private clubs in the Midwest carry the ambitions that Champions Run does. Developed in the early 1990s on Omaha's western edge, the course was designed by Jeff Brauer — a prolific architect whose work tends toward strategic, classical design — and it quickly established itself as one of the more serious members' clubs in Nebraska. The rolling terrain of the Missouri River bluffs shapes the routing in ways that feel genuinely earned rather than manufactured, with significant elevation changes and open, wind-exposed stretches that reward course management over raw power.
Omaha has quietly built a respectable private golf culture, and Champions Run sits near the top of that hierarchy. The club draws a membership that takes the game seriously, and the conditioning reflects it. Playing here feels purposeful — this isn't a social backdrop with a golf course attached, but a layout that demands your attention from the first tee.
Nebraska's continental climate means the season runs hard from late spring through fall, with persistent wind as the constant variable that effectively toughens any given round beyond what the card alone suggests.
