Mountain Meadows sits in Pomona at the eastern edge of the San Gabriel Valley, where the flatlands of the Los Angeles Basin begin giving way to the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. The course occupies one of the more naturally varied stretches of terrain in the Inland Valley golf corridor — a region that, despite its suburban density, has long supported a surprisingly active public golf culture fed by year-round sunshine and accessible municipal and daily-fee layouts.
The name earns its keep here. The property rolls through open meadow-style terrain with the San Gabriels forming a genuine backdrop on clear days, giving rounds a sense of scale that's uncommon this close to the urban core. The layout plays to a par 72, meaning there's a full complement of longer par 4s and par 5s to test ball-striking alongside the shorter, more forgiving holes.
As a public course in a working-class city, Mountain Meadows functions as a genuine community resource — the kind of place where junior golfers get their start, regulars develop handicaps over years, and weekend tee sheets fill early.
