Blacklake Golf Resort has been a fixture of the Central Coast golf scene for decades, offering 36 holes across two distinct nines — the Canyon and Oaks — that can be combined into an 18-hole experience with its own par and character. The resort sits in Nipomo, a quiet agricultural community in San Luis Obispo County, roughly halfway between San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara. This stretch of the Central Coast carries a mild, marine-influenced climate that keeps the turf green year-round and makes almost any tee time comfortable.
The Canyon/Oaks combination draws its identity from two contrasting environments. The Canyon nine works through more rugged, dramatic terrain, while the Oaks nine plays across gentler ground shaded by the native trees that give it its name. Together they produce a round that shifts in rhythm and feel — tighter, more demanding stretches giving way to more open, scoring-friendly holes.
Nipomo itself sits within a region that punches well above its size in golf. Monarch Dunes, a well-regarded layout just down the road, draws destination players, and Blacklake has long served as the everyday, accessible counterpart — a place where Central Coast residents build their games and their habits.
