Rees Jones designed Falcon's Fire when it opened in 1993, and it quickly became one of the more respected resort-style layouts in the Orlando corridor. Jones brought his signature emphasis on strategic bunkering and well-framed greens to a site that demanded thoughtful shaping — central Florida's flat terrain requires an architect to manufacture drama through water, sand, and creative routing, and Jones delivered on all counts. The course earned a reputation as one of the area's better-conditioned tracks and drew a loyal following among visitors looking for something more substantive than the typical tourist-circuit round.
Kissimmee sits at the heart of Florida's theme-park belt, which means Falcon's Fire competes for attention in one of the most golf-saturated resort markets in the country. That competition has kept the course honest — it plays as a genuine test rather than a leisurely spin around a manicured backdrop.
The Florida conditions are year-round: Bermuda fairways, afternoon thunderstorms in summer, and the kind of subtropical humidity that makes a morning tee time a serious consideration.
