Chapman Golf Club

Chapman Golf Club sits on the northern edge of Harare, one of the oldest and most storied clubs in Zimbabwe's capital. Founded in the early decades of the 20th century, the club takes its name from the Chapman family, among the pioneering settler families of colonial Rhodesia. The course has long been a cornerstone of Zimbabwean competitive golf, producing club champions and national-caliber players across generations, and remains one of the more respected layouts on the local circuit.

Playing Chapman means navigating mature msasa and jacaranda trees that frame virtually every fairway, giving the course a dense, parkland feel that sets it apart from the more open layouts elsewhere in the region. Harare sits at roughly 1,500 meters above sea level, which adds meaningful carry distance to every shot — a factor that can flatter mid-handicappers and quietly reward those who understand it.
