Gapyeong County sits about 60 kilometers northeast of Seoul in the mountainous northeastern reaches of Gyeonggi Province, where the North Han River carves through forested ridgelines before feeding into Cheongpyeong Lake. It's a landscape of genuine drama — steep valleys, dense pine and oak woodland, and an elevation that gives the air a crispness rare this close to the capital. The area has become one of South Korea's most concentrated golf corridors, drawing Seoul's players who want a mountain round without the longer drive to Gangwon Province.
베뉴지CC (Venue G Country Club) occupies this highland terrain in a way typical of the better Gapyeong layouts — routing that works with the land's natural contours rather than forcing a flat suburban grid onto an uncooperative hillside. Mountain courses in this region reward course management over raw distance, as elevation changes affect carry distances and sloped lies are a constant variable from tee to green.
For Seoul-based golfers, Gapyeong represents a reliable seasonal escape: accessible enough for a weekday round, scenic enough to feel like a proper destination. A round here comes with mountain views and the kind of setting that makes a bogey easier to forget.
