Svatá Kateřina sits in the rolling, forested highlands of the Vysočina Region — the elevated plateau that forms the historic heart of Bohemia and Moravia — where the landscape shifts from the bustle of Prague or Brno into something quieter and more rural. The region is known for its medieval villages, fish ponds, and a genuinely unhurried pace of life, and a golf facility here reflects that character: this is recreational golf in a countryside setting, far removed from the competitive resort circuits of the Bohemian spa triangle or the prestige courses outside Prague.
The facility at Počátky functions primarily as a driving range resort, meaning the emphasis is on practice, leisure, and accessibility rather than championship ambition. For guests staying on-site or visiting from the surrounding area, it offers a relaxed way into the game — or a place to sharpen ball-striking between rounds elsewhere in the Czech interior.
Vysočina is not a densely golfed region, which itself becomes a selling point. The crowds and green-fee premiums of better-known Czech destinations simply don't apply here, and the unhurried atmosphere of this corner of the country tends to carry over onto the course itself.
