Club de Golf Novo Sancti Petri

Few stretches of Andalusian coastline have been developed with as much golfing ambition as the Novo Sancti Petri urbanization, and this club sits at the heart of that project. The complex was designed by Severiano Ballesteros — Spain's most celebrated golfer — and opened in the early 1990s as part of a major resort and residential development on the Atlantic-facing Costa de la Luz. Ballesteros shaped the layout to work with the flat, pine-lined terrain typical of this corner of Cádiz province, and while the land doesn't offer dramatic elevation changes, the routing uses water hazards, strategic bunkering, and prevailing Atlantic winds to keep the challenge honest across all skill levels.

The setting itself does a lot of the talking. Chiclana de la Frontera sits between the Bay of Cádiz and the open Atlantic, and the coastal light here has a particular clarity that makes an afternoon round feel distinct from golf played almost anywhere inland.

The course draws a mix of visiting resort guests and local members, fitting comfortably into the Costa de la Luz's identity as an increasingly serious golf destination — less crowded than the Costa del Sol, but with the same Andalusian warmth and year-round playability that makes southern Spain so compelling for the game.
