Few courses in England carry their history quite so visibly. Royal Cromer was founded in 1888, making it one of the oldest clubs in Norfolk, and its Royal prefix — granted in 1887 during the club's early formation under the patronage of the Prince of Wales — signals a pedigree that stretches back to the game's Victorian golden age.
