Few corners of Canada offer a more quietly appealing backdrop for golf than the Saanich Peninsula, and Glen Meadows has been part of the local fabric here for decades. Sidney sits at the northern tip of the peninsula, just minutes from the Swartz Bay ferry terminal and a short drive from Victoria, occupying a narrow strip of southern Vancouver Island that enjoys some of the mildest, driest weather in the country. That climate makes Glen Meadows one of the more reliably playable clubs in British Columbia across all four seasons.
As a private country club, Glen Meadows carries the kind of member-driven culture common to established Vancouver Island clubs — a place where regulars know the subtle breaks and the course rewards local knowledge over raw power. The peninsula's gentle, pastoral terrain shapes the layout, giving it a grounded, unhurried character rather than anything dramatic or manufactured.
Sidney itself is a relaxed seaside town with a genuine community identity, known for its bookshops, marina, and proximity to the Gulf Islands. Golf here feels like an extension of that sensibility — unpretentious, well-maintained, and rooted in place.
