Rawang sits about 35 kilometers north of Kuala Lumpur along one of the older highway corridors out of the capital, and Tasik Puteri occupies a dramatically hilly stretch of land that would be unremarkable to those who haven't played it. The course wraps around a central lake — "Tasik Puteri" translates roughly as "Princess Lake" — and the elevation changes are genuinely pronounced by Malaysian standards, delivering long views across Selangor's interior that most courses in the country simply cannot offer.
The layout is known locally for its challenging undulations and tree-lined fairways, where the tropical canopy closes in on errant shots with little mercy. Water comes into play on multiple holes, and the combination of heat, humidity, and hilly terrain means that what looks manageable on the card can play quite a bit longer on the ground.
As a resort destination, Tasik Puteri caters to both KL-based golfers looking for a day trip and visiting players who stay on site. The surrounding Rawang area is semi-rural and relatively unhurried, giving the place a quieter, more removed atmosphere than the congested resort corridors closer to the city.
