Águilas sits at the southern tip of Murcia, where the Costa Cálida meets the Costa de Almería — one of the sunniest and driest corners of the Iberian Peninsula. The town wraps around a series of small bays and volcanic headlands, and the offshore islet of Isla del Fraile (Friar's Island) is one of its most recognizable landmarks, a dramatic rocky outcrop that defines this stretch of coastline. Playing golf here means doing so with that Mediterranean backdrop as your constant companion.
Pitch and putt courses are a firmly embedded part of Spanish golf culture, offering a serious short game workout in a format that welcomes players of all abilities. At this scale, the premium is entirely on touch, trajectory, and course management around and onto the greens — the aspects of the game that separate good scorers from great ones, regardless of handicap.
Águilas itself remains refreshingly unhurried compared to the larger resort towns up the coast, and a round here carries that same relaxed, local character — a genuine community facility set against an extraordinary natural backdrop.
