La Cala Resort

La Cala Resort sits in the hills above the Costa del Sol, about 10 kilometres inland from the Marbella coastline in the municipality of Mijas. The resort operates 3 separate 18-hole courses — Asia, America, and Europa — each designed by Cabell B. Robinson, the American architect who spent much of his career shaping courses across the Iberian Peninsula. Robinson routed all 3 layouts through mature Mediterranean woodland, working with the natural topography of the Andalusian foothills rather than against it. The result is a collection that feels genuinely considered rather than carved out of a hillside.
