Club de Golf Novo Sancti Petri

Few courses in southern Spain carry the pedigree of Novo Sancti Petri. Seve Ballesteros — who won 5 major championships and remains the most celebrated European golfer of his generation — designed both of the club's 18-hole courses here, laying them out across the broad, flat pinewoods of the Novo Sancti Petri resort in the early 1990s. It was one of his most significant design commissions, and the courses reflect his instinct for strategic challenge: fairways that reward precise positioning, greens that punish the wrong angle of approach, and a routing that uses the mature Andalusian pine forest as both a visual frame and a genuine hazard.

The setting is the Costa de la Luz, the stretch of Atlantic-facing coastline that runs south from Cádiz toward Tarifa. This is a less commercialized corner of Andalusia than the Costa del Sol, known for long sandy beaches, consistent wind off the ocean, and strong local character. That wind is a real factor on the course — flat terrain means no shelter, and the Atlantic breeze regularly turns a straightforward-looking layout into something that demands course management and shot-shaping.
