Tumble Creek is the private golf component of Suncadia Resort, a destination residential and resort community set in the eastern foothills of the Cascades outside Cle Elum. The course was designed by Tom Doak, one of the most respected minimalist architects in the game, and opened in 2007. Doak's routing works with the native terrain — ponderosa pines, meadow openings, and the natural contours of the Cascade foothills — rather than imposing artificial shaping on it. The result is a course that feels genuinely of its place, with fairways that roll and tilt in ways that reward strategic thinking over raw power.
Access is reserved for Suncadia property owners and their guests, which gives Tumble Creek an unhurried, well-maintained character that's rare in resort golf. The membership model means the course plays without the volume of a public resort track.
Cle Elum sits at the transition between the wet western Cascades and the drier eastern slope, giving the course a high-desert pine feel with mountain air — a setting that makes the round as much about the landscape as the golf itself.
