Jack Nicklaus designed this private Hill Country layout, which serves as the centerpiece of Cordillera Ranch — one of the Texas Hill Country's most prestigious residential communities. The course opened in the early 2000s and carries the hallmarks of Nicklaus Design: generous landing areas that tighten as you approach the green, bold bunkering, and approach shots that demand real commitment. The routing takes full advantage of the terrain, with elevation changes, native live oak canopies, and exposed limestone outcroppings shaping the visual character of nearly every hole.
Boerne sits about 30 miles northwest of San Antonio in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, a landscape defined by cedar and oak woodlands, spring-fed creeks, and rolling terrain that bears little resemblance to the flat coastal plain most outsiders associate with Texas golf. The climate runs warm through most of the year, with cool winters and the occasional fierce summer afternoon.
As a private members' club within a gated community, Cordillera Ranch rewards residents and their guests with a level of conditioning and exclusivity that keeps the course uncrowded and the experience unhurried.
