Wildcat Run Golf and Country Club occupies a prominent place in the private club landscape of Estero, a fast-growing community in Lee County situated between Naples and Fort Myers. The club was designed by Arnold Palmer — one of a number of Southwest Florida courses bearing his signature — and the layout reflects his characteristic preference for bold, risk-reward decision-making over purely penal design. Wide fairways invite aggressive play off the tee, but water hazards and well-positioned bunkering demand that ambition be backed by execution.
Southwest Florida's flat, low-lying terrain means the course leans heavily on its lakes and wetland carries for drama and definition, with the natural preserve surroundings giving holes a sense of seclusion that the surrounding growth of Estero doesn't always suggest. The subtropical climate keeps the course green year-round, though summer heat and afternoon storms are a reliable part of the experience.
As a members-only club, Wildcat Run cultivates the kind of unhurried, personal atmosphere that resort and daily-fee courses rarely replicate — a place where regulars know every break and bounce, and rounds feel earned rather than purchased.
