Roaring Gap sits in the Blue Ridge Mountains of northwestern North Carolina, high enough on the escarpment that the air carries a genuine chill well into spring and the views stretch toward Virginia on clear days. This part of Surry County has drawn families from Charlotte and the Piedmont for generations as a summer retreat, and golf has long been part of that seasonal rhythm — the cooler elevation offering relief from the lowland heat that makes midsummer rounds elsewhere a grind.
