Old Kinderhook opened in 1999 and quickly earned a reputation as one of Missouri's finest resort courses, regularly appearing near the top of state rankings and drawing players from well beyond the lake region.

Weiskopf's design philosophy tends toward strategic width off the tee paired with sharply contoured greens, and that approach suits this terrain well. The par-71 layout plays shorter on the card than it feels on the ground — the elevation shifts and tree-framed corridors demand shape and course management more than raw distance.
