Tom Weiskopf routed this layout through the Ozark highlands above Lake of the Ozarks in the late 1990s, and the land gave him plenty to work with — rolling hardwood forest, dramatic elevation changes, and the kind of rock-ledge topography that makes every tee shot feel like a small event. Old Kinderhook opened in 1999 and quickly earned a reputation as one of Missouri's finest resort courses, regularly appearing near the top of state rankings and drawing players from well beyond the lake region.
Weiskopf's design philosophy tends toward strategic width off the tee paired with sharply contoured greens, and that approach suits this terrain well. The par-71 layout plays shorter on the card than it feels on the ground — the elevation shifts and tree-framed corridors demand shape and course management more than raw distance.
Camdenton sits at the heart of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri's sprawling inland resort destination, where summer weekends bring boaters, vacationers, and increasingly serious golfers. Old Kinderhook offers a round that holds its own well beyond the regional context.
