Amata Spring Country Club

Amata Spring Country Club sits inside the Amata City industrial estate in Chon Buri province, one of Southeast Asia's most densely developed manufacturing corridors along the Eastern Seaboard. That industrial backdrop might sound incongruous, yet the course has long been considered one of Thailand's premier private layouts — a dramatic counterpoint to the factories and logistics hubs surrounding it.

The course was designed by Pete Dye, whose fingerprints are unmistakable: railroad-tie bulkheads, severe bunkering, island-green theatrics, and a layout that rewards precise shot-making over raw power. It has hosted Asian Tour events and carries a reputation as one of the toughest and most distinctive tests of golf in the region. Dye's characteristic contrariness is very much present — fairways that look generous from the tee but funnel trouble toward the greens, and putting surfaces that punish anything short of the right quadrant.

Membership here is tied closely to the executive and business community attached to the Amata industrial network, giving the club a cosmopolitan, international feel. Chon Buri's humid, tropical climate means lush turf year-round, but the heat and afternoon storms of the wet season are real factors in how the course plays.
