Few private clubs in central Ohio carry the pedigree of Tartan Fields. Designed by Arthur Hills and opened in 1997, the course was built on rolling farmland in Dublin's rapidly expanding northwest corridor and quickly established itself as one of the premier private layouts in the state. Hills gave the property a distinctly Scottish-influenced character — wide, sweeping fairways framed by native grasses, bold bunkering, and greens that reward creative shot-making over brute force. The routing makes strong use of the natural terrain, with elevation changes that feel earned rather than manufactured.
Dublin itself is well-established golf country. It's home to Muirfield Village and the Memorial Tournament, meaning the local standard for course conditioning and design ambition runs genuinely high. Tartan Fields holds its own in that company — members here expect serious golf, and the club delivers it.
The broader experience leans into the private-club tradition: unhurried rounds, meticulous maintenance, and a layout that reveals more of itself the better you know it. It's a course built for repeat play rather than one-time spectacle.
