Julington Creek Golf Club sits in the Fruit Cove area south of Jacksonville, along the St. Johns River corridor where suburban Florida gives way to marshland, live oaks, and the kind of flat, open terrain that defines golf in this part of Duval and St. Johns counties. The course takes its name from Julington Creek, a tributary that winds through the surrounding landscape and contributes to the wetland character that shapes so much of the routing.
Northeast Florida has a legitimate golf identity — the First Coast region anchors one end of Florida's golf belt, and Jacksonville itself supports a dense mix of public, private, and resort options. Julington Creek reads as a community-accessible layout serving the fast-growing suburbs south of the city, where residential development and outdoor recreation have expanded together over recent decades.
Expect a layout that works with rather than against the natural Florida topography — water in play on multiple holes, breezes off the surrounding marsh, and conditions that shift noticeably with the seasons, even in a climate where golf runs essentially year-round.
